Earlier today, a fellow in LaCrosse, Wisc., took a photo of small bits of ice on the Upper Mississippi River and posted them on Flickr. If I remember winters correctly, here around Mile 310 we normally don't see ice until January.
I prefer it that way.

Late afternoon / early evening at Big Sandy harbor
A few pics I got yesterday evening right before and after the sun set at the mouth of the Big Sandy River, one of the busiest places on the Ohio.
