M/V Linda Little

I had my granddaughter at the Harris Riverfront Park in beautiful downtown Huntington WV on a beautiful spring day today. We had to take a few minutes away from the rope ladders, the swings and the slides when I saw a boat coming down the Ohio River. And not just any boat, but a Crounse boat of unfamiliar appearance. I guessed it was the Linda Little, and sure enough it was.

I don't think I've seen the Linda Little up this way before. That's not saying it hasn't been here. It just hasn't been here when I was around to see it.

Anyway, after I took my granddaughter back to my daughter, I figured I might as well run down to Catlettsburg and try to get a picture of the boat with a different lens and from a different angle. And I did.

There were other boats there, too. I saw the Nashville Hunter downbound with empties, the Ohio Valley lightboat headed up to the Kenova dock to pick up some barges and the Taylor Renee coming out of the Big Sandy pushing six coal loads and heading down the Ohio with its engine or engines kicking up as much wake as they could generate. And there was the Wayne P. LaGrange of ACL.

I might post some of those later. Right now it's getting close to bedtime. That two-year-old girl wore me out.
