Point Pleasant River Museum damaged by fire

Yesterday, July 1, 2018, the Point Pleasant River Museum and Learning Center sustained heavy damage from a fire that began in the attic. Everyone got out okay, but it was a big loss for the Point Pleasant, W.Va., community and to river enthusiasts.

After the fire was extinguished, firefighters and others removed many of the museum's priceless exhibits and books to a youth center for storage. Here a firefighter carries a model of the steamboat Delta Queen to a waiting truck.

There are many photos to download and process, so more will come later.

(Posting delayed because my power was out for 18 hours thanks to a storm that moved through last night as I was driving home).
