Christening at McGinnis, part 1

On June 10, executives and employees of McGinnis Inc. gathered at the McGinnis dock on the western side of the Cincinnati area to formally dedicate and christen two towboats that had been renamed for two long-time employees of McGinnis in the Cincinnati area.

The blog will have about two dozen photos from that day. They've been broken down into five separate posts so they don't overwhelm the reader or so one individual photo won't get lost in the crowd.

First up, exterior photos of the two boats themselves:

Next, Lacey and Piepmeier.

Coming: Photos from a double christening

Now that the Waterways Journal has published my article and photos from the christening of the McGinnis Inc. towboats Garry Lacey and Chuck Piepmeier on June 10, I am going through some of my favorites from that day and getting them ready to post on the blog. They should be up tomorrow or Sunday.

Next up will be photos from the christening of the Michael T. Somales, which occurred June 20. Those should be in next week's issue, with photos on the blog to appear a few days after that.

The WJ paid for me to attend both ceremonies, so there was no way I was going to scoop it here on the blog.
