Ducks
It appears that the black duck population in the Ohio Valley is on the decline while mallards are doing okay. Here's one news report about some possible reasons.
I love the Ohio River. I enjoy reading about the river, smelling the river, photographing the river, listening to its sounds ... and we can share them here.

Maybe they've changed routes to avoid the hassle of experiencing "Mike Morton's team herds ducks into a trap at the Sloughs Wildlife Management Area"
If I was duck and had that happen to me I think I'd find a different way south.
