Good-bye, good weather

The river bank here at Huntington was starting to dry out. Yesterday I went to one of my favorite photo spots by the river, but I couldn't get to it because the water was up. Now the Weather Service is predicting 1 to 2 to 3 inches of rain this weekend, or some other nasty amount following a beautiful week of dry weather and temperatures in the upper 60s and low 70s. Add to that the snow melt up in the mountains, and we could have some high water again in a few days.

Oh well.

such is life on the river - we are expecting some flooding of the Susquehanna - the flood gates are up in areas of Wilkes Barre, although I suspect that this is just a precaution.
we were in Pittsburgh last weekend and saw a few tows, although i could not make out the names of the boats..

I was looking for it, but I never saw it. The Corps of Engineers vessel locator had it in the Greenup pool forever, so I had no idea where to look, and I didn't have the gas money to go looking for it. Do you have a Flickr account or somewhere you can post the photos?

Oh, I did go down to Catlettsburg tonight looking for it. I didn't see the Evan Wharton, but I did see some boats I'd never seen before, like the Miss Kathy.
