You can also read some of mine at this link as long as it remains active. It's from 2007. I did a large package on the Silver Bridge for the 20th anniversary in 1987, but that's not on line, of course.

This brings back many memories. My father was the first reporter on the scene.. He and Junior Wilson spent the next 24 hour putting out an EXTRA edition to the Tribune. I remember the phone call that Dad made to home from the Payphone at Tiny's Grocery Store right across from the bridge.. He said, Sis, the bridge is gone.
Many lives were lost and many more were changed . Times were hard, but we survived the tragedy
