Sunrise

Thanks to the recent heavy rains enjoyed by people on the tributaries, the Ohio River bank is a nasty place today, at least the part that's not under water. So here is one from a few weeks ago, on a morning when the sky was clear and the river was low and calm.

Ditto, that.

I crossed the river this morning at Russell. Returned in the afternoon at Ashland and there was a LOT of debris floating downstream at both locations.

I imagine high, fast and debris-laden water is not a river condition that tow crews particularly enjoy.
