Eagles on the Ohio

For the past few years, I have heard from people who say they have seen bald eagles along the Ohio River. For some reason, I never have.

Until this past Friday.

I was a passenger in a car heading down WV Route 2 just below the Greenbottom wetland and wildlife refuge when I saw a bald eagle flying low over trees at the top of the river bank. There was no opportunity for a photo, given the distance between us and the speed of the car.

But I can now say I have seen a bald eagle in the wild here in my home area.
