The water's always choppy in South Point
You know how sometimes during a dry spell when river flow slows and when there's almost no commercial, recreational or fishing boats on the river, how the surface becomes smooth as glass and as reflective as a mirror? Well, it wasn't like that in the South Point, Ohio, area this morning. With all that traffic moving barges around and boats coming in an out to be repaired, the water is almost never smooth there at the mouth of the Big Sandy River.
But that also means you can see several boats whenever you're in the area.
Here, the M/V Garyville, heading down the river, encounters the M/V Alan P. Hall heading upriver lightboat.
