Warm spring > cold winter

Back last fall, I was really hoping for a mild winter. The two previous winters seemed like they would never end, and the roads around here were pretty hazardous, as the state highway department apparently forgot we existed.

But with spring here, I can say I was mostly happy with this past winter's weather. As I was thinking of that, it reminded me of when I took the boys out to see the Ohio River frozen over, except that the W.H. Dickhoner had cut a path through it by the time I got them there.

The blog post from January 2010 is here. The air temperature that day was in the single digits. At least that's what it felt like.

I have a few shooting spots on the Ohio and Kanawha rivers where I should be able to get some nice photos once the hills are fully green. It should be a good spring.

If the ticks leave me alone, that is.
